Fig. 28 Oil Pump To Balance Shaft Housing:

1. Remove oil pan as described under Oil Pan.
2. On models less balance shaft, Fig.27 , proceed as follows:
a. Remove oil pump attaching bolts.
b. Remove oil pump and shims.
3. On models with balance shaft, proceed as follows:
a. Remove balance shaft chain cover.
b. Remove shaft chain tensioner assembly.
c. Remove oil pump cover, then oil pump attaching bolts and pump, Fig.28
4. On all models, reverse procedure to install. Tighten oil pump to engine attaching bolts to specifications. Tighten oil pump screen to engine attaching nut to specifications.
