Replacement Tail Lamp Modifications
Models:
1991-94 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight
Replacement tail lamp mounting studs are too large for the mounting holes in the rear end panel.
In an effort to commonize fastener usage, replacement tail lamps are being made with 6mm mounting studs. The studs were previously 5mm.
Using the following procedure, enlarge the tail lamp mounting holes.
1. Remove tail lamp. Refer to Section 8B in the Service Manual.
2. Using a 6.5mm drill, enlarge the tail lamp mounting holes.
3. Install tail lamp and nuts.
