MODELS/YEARS:
1991-92 EIGHTY EIGHT, NINETY EIGHT
CONDITION:
Some owners of 1991 Ninety Eight and 1992 Eighty Eight models may exhibit a condition where the fuel lines sag below the underbody floor pan creating an unsightly condition.
CAUSE:
Under certain conditions, the forces of snow and water splash exerted on the lines may cause them to sag.
CORRECTION:
Three vehicle populations exist. The service procedure for each is listed below:
A. This correction applies to 1991 Ninety Eight vehicle numbers M4300026 through M4320753.
A cover/retainer may be added by ordering cover/retainer, P/N 25559590, and rivet, P/N 9437938 which can be attached to present studs at position "B" and "C" as shown.
1. Remove the retainer clips as currently installed. See Figure 2.
2. Snap the cover/retainer over the studs at position B and C.
3. Install the cover/retainer as shown in Figure 1. Install rivet, Part Number 9437938, at Position "A" as shown in the illustration.
B. This correction applies to 1991 Ninety Eight models vehicle number M4320754 through M4351349 and 1992 Eighty Eight models vehicle number NH300014 through NH315320.
These vehicles were built with a cover/retainer and a plastic push pin at position "A".
1. Remove the plastic push pin at position "A". See Figure 2.
2. Install rivet, Part Number 9437938, as shown.
