Dieseling/Run-On

DEFINITION: Engine continues to run after key is turned OFF, but runs very roughly.

POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION

Fuel injectors ^ Check for leaking injectors.



Incorrect idle speed ^ Check Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. Refer to COMPUTERS AND CONTROL SYSTEMS/DIAGNOSIS, TESTING AND INSPECTION PROCEDURES.
^ Check throttle valve closed throttle stop adjustment.
