Rocker Arm Cover - Left

Roker Arm Cover:






REMOVAL
1. Drain coolant. For additional procedures refer to Cooling System / Service and Repair / Draining and Refilling. Service and Repair
2. Disconnect Ignition wire clamps from coolant tube.
3. Remove coolant tube mount at left cylinder head.
4. Remove coolant tube hose clamp at coolant pump.
5. Remove coolant tube hose at coolant pump and coolant tube.
6. Remove crankcase vent tube.
7. Remove ignition wire guide.
8. Disconnect torque strut from engine bracket and swing torque strut up. Refer to Engine Mount / Locations. LocationsRefer to Engine Mount / Service and Repair. Engine Mount
9. Remove valve rocker arm cover.

NOTE If cover adheres to cylinder head, remove by bumping end of rocker arm cover with palm of hand or soft rubber mallet.

10. Remove valve rocker arm cover gasket then clean sealing surface on cylinder head and valve cover with degreaser.

INSTALLATION
1. Install new gasket and new bolt grommets.

NOTE Make sure gasket is seated properly in valve cover groove.

2. Install Ultra Black RTV sealer GM P/N 12345739 (or equivalent) in notch.
3. Install valve rocker arm cover then torque bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb. in.).
4. Connect torque strut to engine bracket. Refer to Engine Mount / Locations. LocationsRefer to Engine Mount / Service and Repair. Engine Mount
5. Install ignition wire guide.
6. Install crankcase vent tube.
7. Install coolant tube and coolant tube hose at coolant pump.
8. Install coolant tube hose clamp at coolant pump.
9. Install coolant tube mount at left cylinder head.
10. Install ignition wire clamps at coolant tube.
11. Install engine coolant. For additional procedures refer to Cooling System / Service and Repair / Draining and Refilling. Service and Repair
12. Inspect for proper fluid levels and for oil leaks.
