CONDITION: A fuse or fusible link may intermittently blow causing loss of power to the circuits that are fed by that protection device.
DIAGNOSIS: If this condition is encountered, attention should be directed to the following areas:
1) The I/P harness near the I/P support bracket at the right side of the steering column. (See Figure 1)
2) The I/P harness behind the fuse block at the point at which the harness takes a curve around the fuse block bracket. (See Figure 1)
CORRECTION: 1) Repair any damaged wires using the proper procedures as shown in Section 8A- 5 of the Service Manual.
2) Move the harnesses as far away from any metal edges as possible and secure with a tie strap to prevent any further contact. If the wires cannot be moved, protect the bracket edges with 3M electrlcal sealant tape # 06147 or equivalent.
