Service Procedure
NOTE:IF A VEHICLE SUBJECT TO THIS CAMPAIGN HAS BEEN REPAIRED FOR THIS CONDITION AND THE REPAIR ORDER INDICATES THAT THE NEW PART NUMBER (P.N.: 10475706) HAS BEEN INSTALLED, THIS PROCEDURE IS NOT REQUIRED. PROCEED TO STEP 13.
INSPECTION OF IDI COIL HOUSING
1. Raise and support the hood.
2. View between cam carriers and not color of coil housing:
a.) If coil housing is white, it is the correct part. Go to step 13.
b.) If coil housing is black, the cover requires replacement with correct part (P.N.: 10475706). Go to step 3.
REPLACEMENT OF IDI COIL HOUSING
3. Note the radio preset stations.
4. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
5. Disconnect ignition module electrical connector.
6. Remove the I.D.I. assembly
7. Remove I.D.I. coil housing bolts and housing
8. Install new I.D.I. coil housing and bolts.
9. Install I.D.I. assembly.
10. Connect ignition control module electrical connector.
11. Connect negative battery cable and lower hood.
12. Reset the radio preset stations.
13. Install Campaign Identification Label.
14. California retailers only, provide owner with a "Vehicle Emission Recall Proof of Correction" certificate.
