Water Pump: Service and Repair

Fig. 15 Water Pump Removal & Installation:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain cooling system, then remove serpentine drive belt.
3. Remove lower radiator hose and heater hose at pump.
4. Remove water pump pulley attaching bolts. Long bolt is removed through access hole located in the body side rail.
5. Remove water pump pulley.
6. Remove water pump attaching bolts, then the water pump, Fig. 15.
7. Reverse procedure to install, torquing bolts to specifications.
