Exhaust Manifold And Heat Shields:

REMOVAL
1. Remove oxygen sensor connector.
2. Remove upper heat shield.
3. Raise vehicle.
4. Remove exhaust manifold brace to manifold bolt.

Exhaust Manifold To Pipe:

5. Remove manifold to exhaust pipe spring loaded nuts.
6. Pull down and back on the exhaust pipe to disengage it from the exhaust manifold.
7. Lower vehicle.

Exhaust Manifold:

8. Remove exhaust manifold to cylinder head retaining nuts.
9. Remove exhaust manifold, lower heat shield, seals and gaskets.
10. Clean all sealing surfaces.

TRANSFER PARTS
If replacing exhaust manifold, transfer the following:
- Oxygen sensor. Coat threads of sensor with Anti-Seize Compound GM P/N 5613695 or equivalent.
- Lower heat shield.
- Exhaust manifold studs.
