Condition: Sticking control buttons in the C67 A/C control assembly.

Cause: The control assembly is twisted due to the instrument panel mounting surfaces not being in the same plain.

Correction: Loosen the mounting screws of the control assembly. Remove the lower right screw and torque the remaining screws as specified in the following procedure.

IMPORTANT: Some 1990 vehicles were built with (3) mounting screws with the upper right screw being omitted.

Procedure:

1. Using the instructions specified in Section 1B of the Service Manual remove the necessary I/P trim plates (cluster and lower accessory) to obtain access to the A/C control assembly.

2. Loosen the mounting screws (3 or 4) of the control assembly. If the control has only (3) screws remove the screw in the lower right position and install it in the upper right position.

3. Torque the mounting screws to 1.5 N-m (13 lbs.in.) in the following sequence:

1. Lower Right - Remove and/or Omit
2. Upper Right
3. Lower Left
4. Upper Left

4. Install the I/P trim plates as specified in the service manual.
