Complete Hose Replacement

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Discharge A/C system.
2. Hose assembly and remove from car, seal all system openings, including removed hose assembly, with tape or approved plastic caps to prevent dirt and moisture contamination.
3. Use a fine toothed hacksaw to cut a wide notch all the way across the crimped metal band and into the layer of the hose:
a. On one end if only part of it is being replaced.
b. On both ends if the entire hose is being replaced.
4. Pry band open until it can be removed without damaging the fitting.
5. Cut the old hose off of both fittings.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Clamps (2) loosely on hose.
2. New section of hose the same length on the fittings.
3. Align fittings so that there will be no twist in the hose when put in car.

Refrigerant Hose and Clamp Repair:






4. Clamps so that locator lug is positioned on the hose end. Tighten clamps to 4.5 Nm (40 lbs. in.).
5. New "0" rings.
6. Hose assembly.
7. Partially charge the system and perform a leak test before completely recharging.
