Clamp Replacement

Refrigerant Hose and Clamp Repair:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Discharge A/C system.
2. Hose assembly and remove from car, tape or use approved plastic caps to seal all system openings including removed hose assembly, to prevent dirt and moisture contamination.
3. Use a fine toothed hacksaw to cut a wide notch all the way across the crimped metal band.

NOTE Avoid cutting the hose material.

4. Use a cold chisel and SMALL hammer to split band along the cut notch.
5. Pry band open wide enough to allow it to be removed without cutting hose material with burred edges.

NOTE If the hose material has been cut, all or part of the hose must be replaced. The repaired hose should be the same overall length as the original.
