Fuel Tank Assembly

Remove

1. Drain tank
2. Hoist car.
3. Tank meter asm. harness connector from body harness connector.
4. Ground wire retaining screw from underbody (if used).
5. Hoses from tank meter asm.
6. Hoses at tank from filler and vent pipes.
7. Support fuel tank and disconnect the two fuel tank retaining straps.
8. Tank.
9. Fuel tank meter asm. and seal (gasket) using J 24187.
10. Sound insulators.


Install


1. Fuel tank meter asm. and seal (gasket), if removed.

Important
^ Use a new seal.

2. Sound insulators.
3. Support tank, then tank.
4. Straps. Tighten the front fuel tank retaining strap bolts to 34 N.m (25 lbs. ft.) and the rear strap nut to 12 N.m (106 lbs. in.).
5. Hoses to fuel tank meter asm.
6. Hoses to filler and vent pipes. Tighten clamps.
7. Ground lead to underbody (if used).
8. Fuel tank meter asm. harness connector to body harness connector.
9. Lower car.
10. Refill tank.
