A revised bolt tightening procedure has been developed to provide a more uniform clamp load on the balancer assembly.
The following procedure supersedes the existing service procedure. Use J 36660 Torque Angle Meter, refer to Figure 1.
1. Snug bolts to 12 N-m (9 ft.lbs.) in the following sequence: 3-1-2-4.
2. Following the same sequence, tighten the short bolts (No. 2 and 1, Figure 1) to 20 N-m (15 ft.lbs.) plus 60~ and the long bolts (No. 3 and 4, Figure 1) to 15 N-m (11 ft.lbs.) plus 90~.
