CORP.REF.NO: 937205

DATE: May 1990

SECTION: 7B
CONDITION:

Owners of some 1983-88 Firenza models equipped with Isuzu 5-speed manual transaxles (RPO MK7, MR3, and MY7) may comment about one or more of the following:

1. Transaxle hopping out of gear.
2. Higher than normal shift efforts.
3. Shifter rattle or buzz.

These conditions may be more apparent during cold weather operation.

CAUSE:

Any of these conditions may be the result of the shift boot being too stiff.

CORRECTION:

To repair any of the above conditions a new shifter boot should be installed (P/N 22553175). The new shift boot is made of a more pliable material.

If the new boot does not satisfactorily fix the customer concern, consult previous bulletins on these subjects.
