Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair

LEFT SIDE
1. Disconnect battery ground cable and remove air cleaner.
2. Remove mass air flow sensor and the heat shield.
3. Disconnect crossover pipe at manifold, then remove manifold attaching bolts and the manifold.
4. Reverse procedure to install, torquing bolts to 25 ft. lbs.
RIGHT SIDE
1. Disconnect battery ground cable and remove air cleaner.
2. Remove mass air flow sensor and the heat shield.
3. Disconnect crossover pipe at manifold.
4. Disconnect accelerator and T.V. cable at throttle lever.
5. Remove accelerator and T.V. cable bracket at plenum and position out of way.
6. Disconnect power steering line at pump.
7. Remove E.G.R. valve and related parts.
8. Raise and support vehicle.
9. Disconnect exhaust pipe at exhaust manifold, then lower vehicle.
10. Remove manifold attaching bolts and the manifold.
11. Reverse procedure to install.
