DRIVEABILITY CORRECTIONS 1982 DELTA 88 MODELS EQUIPPED WITH 3.8L (LD5) FEDERAL ENGINES
NUMBER: 82-T-8
DATE: February 26, 1982
A newly calibrated PROM and EGR valve has been released for production and service on 1982 Delta 88 models equipped with Federal 3.8L engines. These parts are to be used for dealer correction if any one of or combination of the conditions listed below, when it has been determined that affected systems are within specification and are functioning normally.
^ Chuggle at 40-45 MPH
^ Tip-in Hesitation
^ Cold Driveability Hesitation
Before a decision is made to install a PROM and EGR valve, the car should be roadtested, if possible, for the owner described conditions and vehicle systems checked to determine if adjustments are within specifications.
Unless all areas listed on the checklist are correct, a PROM and EGR valve will not be effective for the purpose intended. Use the following checklist for assistance when necessary.
Any time one of the three (3) or all three (3) conditions are encountered and the checklists did not assist in curing the condition, use the PROM and EGR, for all three (3) conditions. ONE PART CAN NOT BE INSTALLED WITHOUT THE OTHER.
