Procedure
1. Discharge the air conditioning system.2. Disconnect all tube/hose fittings.
3. Remove and discard the receiver drier.
4. Using the R-11, prepare the flush gun for use by following the instructions supplied with the flush gun kit.
5. Place the tip of the flush gun into the outlet side of the condenser and flush the condenser thoroughly with the R-11.
6. With the R-12 canister positioned to deliver vapor (valve up), flush the condenser from the outlet side until all of the R-11 has been flushed out. After finishing, cap both the inlet and outlet fittings of the condenser to prevent the entry of moisture and dirt.
7. Remove the evaporator assembly and disassemble it. Remove the expansion valve and carefully clean it using R-11. If the evaporator is equipped with a suction throttle device (STV), remove, disassemble and carefully clean it using R-11. Flush the expansion valve and suction throttle valve thoroughly with R-12 (valve up) to remove all traces of R-11.
8. Place the tip of the flush gun into the outlet side of the evaporator core. Flush the evaporator core thoroughly with R-11. Using R-12 vapor, flush the evaporator core until all of the R-11 has been removed. Cap both the inlet and outlet fittings until reassembly.
9. Flush all tubes and hoses with R-11 liquid followed by R-12 vapor. Cap both ends of all tubes and hoses immediately after cleaning.
10. Reassemble the system using new O-rings at connections. Be certain to adjust the oil quantity of the system according to the Service Manual procedure (HA section). If the compressor is not being replaced, be certain to change the compressor oil.
11. Evacuate (using a vacuum pump in good working order) for a minimum of one hour. Refer to the appropriate Nissan Service Manual for proper procedure.
12. Charge the system with the proper amount of R-12. Conduct leak check and performance test. Refer to the appropriate Nissan Service Manual for proper charging procedure.
