Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

When installing new condenser, it is not necessary to add refrigerant oil when there are no signs of a major oil leak, except on the Sentra. When installing new condenser on Sentra that shows no sign of oil leak, add .3 oz. of new refrigerant oil. On all models that show signs of major oil leak, except 200SX, 300ZX or Sentra, add 1.7 oz. of new refrigerant oil. On Sentra and 300ZX that show signs of major oil leak, add 2 oz. of new refrigerant oil.



1. Disconnect battery ground cable and discharge system refrigerant.
2. Remove radiator grille.
3. Remove radiator shroud and radiator attaching bolts.
4. Disconnect refrigerant lines from condenser and receiver/drier.
5. Remove condenser.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
