Removal

1. Block rear wheels, then raise and support front of vehicle.
2. Remove tire and wheel assembly.
3. Remove caliper assembly.
4. Remove hub cap, Fig. 19.
5. Remove cotter pin, adjusting cap and wheel bearing nut.
6. Remove wheel hub and rotor.
7. Separate outside (outboard) wheel bearing inner race and washer.
8. Separate brake rotor and hub.
9. Remove inside (inboard) wheel bearing outer race, grease seal and outer race assembly. Do not drop wheel bearing or bearing damage will result.

Inspection

Inspect all removed components for excessive wear and/or damage. Replace worn and/or damaged components as required.

Installation

1. Using a suitable tool, install bearing outer race into hub assembly.
2. Using suitable grease, pack hub cap and lubricate new O-ring.
3. Coat bearings with suitable grease.
4. Place inner bearing into hub, then install a new grease seal. Coat seal lips with suitable grease.
5. Install rotor onto hub assembly.
6. Lubricate threaded portion of spindle and bearing washer, using suitable grease.
7. Install hub assembly onto spindle. Install washer and wheel bearing nut.
8. Install hub cap, O-ring and caliper assembly.
