A/C - Poor System Performance
No: TSB-01-55-001DATE: January, 2001
MODEL: 2001 Galant
SUBJECT:
POOR A/C PERFORMANCE
PURPOSE
On some affected vehicles, poor A/C performance (vehicle interior does not cool down sufficiently) and/or engine overheating may be due to an incorrect condenser fan blade being installed at the factory.
The proper condenser fan blade for 4-cylinder models has teeth on the left side of the blade (as viewed from the engine side of the fan). To determine if the proper fan blade is installed, inspect the teeth on the blade as described in this bulletin.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
2001 Galant models built before 10/24/00 (VIN 4A3AA46G21E093702) equipped with 4-cylinder engine
PROCEDURE
Inspect the condenser fan blade. If the teeth are on the right side of the blade, replace the fan blade. Refer to the PARTS INFORMATION section of this bulletin.
