PURPOSE
Beginning with January 1998 transaxle production, the shape of the transfer drive gear lock nut was changed. The new style transfer drive gear/nut assembly cannot be disassembled. This bulletin notes this change in the 1998 manual, and deletes transfer drive gear disassembly/reassembly procedures and related items and tools from the 1999 - 2001 manuals.
Write the TSB revision number of this bulletin in the "TSB Revision" box at the bottom of the affected service manual page.
