EVAP System Leak Monitor
Test conditions and main points to note:1. Conduct test drives in a manner that will ensure all the following conditions are met:
1. Engine coolant temperature: 45 °C (113 °F) or less (The engine is stopped before the test drive is started).
2. Atmospheric temperature: 5 °C (41 °F) or more, 45 °C (113 °F) or less.
3. Selector lever position: D range
2. One trip monitor will be completed by driving according to the steps below (from start to ignition switch "OFF"). (Time required is approximately eight minutes.)
1. Confirm that the engine coolant temperature and atmospheric temperature both satisfy the conditions given in item 1 above. (Engine stopped.)
2. Start the engine and accelerate to 89 - 97 km/h (55 - 60 mph).
3. Monitor preparation period: Drive for 200 seconds or more while maintaining vehicle speed between 89 - 97 km/h (55 - 60 mph).
4. Drive on a flat area for for 150 seconds or more while maintaining the vehicle speed between 89 - 97 km/h (55 - 60 mph).During this time, continue driving while keeping the throttle opening angle constant (while keeping the throttle fluctuation amount as small as possible.) Monitor the scan tool display of vehicle speed and throttle opening angle in this state.
5. Return the vehicle to the workshop, then turn the ignition OFF.
