INSPECTION CHART FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (FAULT TREE)

NOTE: Do not replace the engine control module (ECM) until a thorough terminal check reveals there are no short/open circuits.

NOTE: After the ECM detects a malfunction, a diagnostic trouble code is recorded when the engine is next started and the same malfunction is re-detected. However, for items marked with a "*", the diagnostic trouble code is recorded on the first detection
of the malfunction.

NOTE: O2: Heated oxygen sensor

NOTE: Sensor 1: indicates sensors which are mounted closest to the engine.

NOTE: Sensor 2: indicates sensors which are mounted next-closest to the engine.
