OBD II Drive Cycle Procedure

4. Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system monitor (P0400)

Test conditions and procedures
1. Perform a road test in a state where all of the following conditions are satisfied.
1. Engine coolant temperature: 80° C (176° F) or higher (Engine warm-up completed)
2. Atmospheric temperature: 5° C (41° F) or higher
3. A/T conditions:
- Selector lever position: D range
- Overdrive switch: ON
- Power/economy changeover switch: Power
4. A/C switch: OFF
2. One trip monitoring is completed by making a trip in the following pattern (from when the engine is started to when the ignition switch is placed in the OFF position). (Required time approx. 10 minutes)
*1: After the engine has completely warmed up, set the ignition switch to OFF
*2: Start the engine and quickly accelerate it until the vehicle speed reaches any speed between 56 and 64 kph (35 and 40 mph).
*3: Monitoring in progress. With the engine speed at 2,000 to 3,000 rpm and the clutch engaged, fully close the throttle on the and decelerate the engine without brake application until the engine speed falls to around 900 rpm. During the period, avoid operation of the steering wheel and ON/OFF control of lights, etc.
*4: Accelerate the engine until the vehicle speed reaches any speed between 56 and 64 kph (35 and 40 mph) and continue travel for more than 20 seconds.
[After one monitoring (deceleration), allow more than 20 seconds before starting the next monitoring (deceleration).]
Thereafter, repeat the *3 and *4 eight times.
*5: Decelerate the engine and stop the vehicle. After the vehicle has come to a stop, set the ignition switch to OFF.
