5. Fuel trim monitor (P0170, P0173)

Test conditions and procedures
1. Perform a road test in a state where all of the following conditions are satisfied.
1. Engine coolant temperature: 80 to 97° C (176 to 207° F) (Engine warm-up completed)
2. Atmospheric temperature: -10° C (14° F) or higher, or 60° C (140° F) or lower
3. A/T conditions:
- Selector lever position: D range
- Overdrive switch: ON
- Power/economy changeover switch: Power
2. One trip monitoring is completed by making a trip in the following pattern (from when the engine is started to when the ignition switch is placed in the OFF position). (Required time approx. 35 minutes)
*1: After the engine has completely warmed up, set the ignition switch to OFF.
*2: Start the engine and quickly accelerate it until the vehicle speed reaches any speed between 89 and 97 kph (55 and 60 mph).
*3: Monitoring in progress. While maintaining the vehicle speed within a range from 89 to 97 kph (55 to 60 mph), continue to travel for more than 30 minutes. During the period, don't drive at a constant speed for more than 120 seconds.
(Slightly accelerate in less than 120 seconds. You may depress the brake pedal, but avoid abrupt brake application.)
*4: Decelerate the engine and stop the vehicle. After the vehicle has come to a stop, set the ignition switch to OFF
