Cylinder Head Assembly: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
Pre-removal Operation:
- Engine Coolant Draining.
- Intake Manifold Removal.
- Exhaust Manifold Removal.
- Water Hose Pipe Removal.
- Timing Belt Removal.

Follow removal steps outlined in illustration.

Removal Service Point





[A] Cylinder Head Assembly Removal.
Using the special tool, after loosening the bolts (in 2 or 3 cycles), remove the cylinder head assembly.

INSTALLATION
Installation in reverse order as removal.

Installation Service Points





]A[ Cylinder Head Gasket Installation.
1. Degrease the mounting surface of the cylinder head gasket.
2. Lay the cylinder head gasket on cylinder block with the identification mark at front top.

Torque Sequence:

]B[ Cylinder Head Assembly Installation.
Using the special tool, tighten the bolts in the order shown in two or three steps.

CAUTION: Attach the head bolt washer in the direction shown in the figure.

Post-installation Operation:
- Engine Coolant Supplying.
- Intake Manifold Installation.
- Timing Belt Installation.
