DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHECK
When Scan Tool is used
Connect the scan tool to the data link connector then check diagnostic trouble codes.
CAUTION: Make certain that the ignition switch is OFF when the scan tool is connected or disconnected.
NOTE: If the ignition switch is ON with the scan tool connected, some of the warning lights will flash. This is because the data link connector terminal 1 is grounded and diagnostic output via warning lamp will operate. This is not an abnormal condition.
SWS SIMPLIFIED DIAGNOSTIC CODE OUTPUT

ERASING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES
When Scan Tool is used
Connect the scan tool to the data link connector then erase the diagnostic trouble codes.
When the Scan Tool is not used
With the ignition switch OFF, disconnect the battery negative terminal for 10 seconds or more.
SWS SIMPLIFIED FAULT DIAGNOSTIC MODE
The following tests can be performed using the SWS Simplified Fault Diagnosis Mode:
- SWS ECU specification
- Switch input signals for each ECU
- Diagnostic trouble code output
