Acceleration/Deceleration Sensor: Service and Repair






REMOVAL
Pre-removal Operation:
- Front and Rear Console Assemblies Removal.

CAUTION: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) When installing or removing the instrument panel, don't allow any impact or shock to the SRS-Electronic Control Unit (ECU).

Follow removal steps outlined in illustration.

INSPECTION
G Sensor Check





1) Disconnect G-sensor connector and connect special tool, MB991348, between terminals of the disconnected connector.
2) With the ignition switch turned ON, read output voltage between terminals No. 2 and No. 3.

Standard value: 2.3 - 2.7 V





3) With special tool MB991348 connected, rotate the sensor in such a manner as to direct the front mark on the G-sensor mounting surface downward and read output voltage between terminals No. 2 and No. 3.

Standard value: 3.3 - 3.7 V

4) If the output deviates from the standard value, make sure that nothing is wrong with the power supply wire and ground wire and then replace G-sensor.

INSTALLATION
Installation in reverse order as removal.

CAUTION: SRS When installing or removing the instrument panel, don't allow any impact or shock to the SRS-ECU.
