Rectifier Diode / Bridge: Testing and Inspection
1. To check the (+) heat sink, perform continuity check between the (+) heat sink and sator coil lead connection terminal with a tester.
If there is continuity in both directions, it means that the diode is short-circuited. Replace the rectifier.
2. To check the (-) heat sink, perform continuity check between the (-) heat sink and stator coil lead connection terminal. If there is continuity in both directions, it means that the diode is short-circuited. Replace the rectifier.
3. To check the diode trio, connect a circuit tester to both sides of each diode and perform continuity check on the three diodes. If there is continuity in both directions or if there is no continuity, it means that the diode is out of order. Replace the rectifier.
