Intake Manifold: Service and Repair








1. Drain the coolant and relieve the fuel pressure. Relieve pressure in the fuel pipe line to prevent fuel outflow.

NOTE: Cover fuel pipe line with rags after relieving pressure as certain pressure may still remain.

2. Refer to the illustration for the removal procedure, noting the following:





3. Remove fuel rail with fuel injector and pressure regulator on.

NOTE: Do not drop injector when removing fuel rail.





4. When connecting the high-pressure fuel hose to the fuel rail, apply a drop of new engine-oil to the O-ring, and then insert, being careful not to-damage the O-ring.

CAUTION: Do not let engine oil in the fuel rail.

5. Check that-the high-pressure fuel hose turns smoothly. If not, remove the hose and then re-insert it into the fuel rail and check again.





6. Tighten the bolts to the 5 Nm (4 ft. lbs.).
