Removal and Replacement
1. Drain transaxle oil and engine coolant into suitable container, then disconnect battery ground cable.2. Remove air cleaner assembly.
3. Disconnect air flow sensor and purge control solenoid connectors.
4. Disconnect transaxle control cables and radiator hoses.
5. Disconnect engine wiring harness, back-up light switch and speedometer connections.
6. Remove transaxle mount bracket and air compressor.
7. Disconnect clutch release cylinder and clutch tube bracket, then remove starter.
8. Remove undercover panel, then the front wheel speed sensors.
9. Remove driveshafts as follows:
a. Disconnect tie rod end and knuckle.
b. Disconnect lower arm ball joint.
c. Disconnect left-hand driveshaft from bearing bracket and suspend driveshaft with wire.
d. Remove cotter pin and nut, then remove right-hand driveshaft from hub and transaxle.
10. Remove bearing bracket and shaft assembly.
11. Remove front height sensor rod, then disconnect front exhaust pipe from engine.
12. Remove transaxle stay, then slide transaxle to the right and lower to remove.
13. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Tighten nuts and bolts to specification.
b. Refill transaxle with suitable oil. Tighten filler and drain plugs to specification.
