1. Warm up the engine and stop it.
2. Disconnect the black vacuum hose (with red paint mark) from the intake air plenum and connect it to a hand vacuum pump.
3. Plug the nipple from which the vacuum hose was removed.
4. Disconnect the No. 2 connector of the evaporative emission purge solenoid.
5. With the engine at idle, apply 400 mmHg (15.7 in.Hg). Vacuum should leak for a few seconds after the engine is started.
6. Connect the No. 2 connector of the evaporative emission purge solenoid.
7. Disconnect the No. 1 connector of the evaporative emission purge solenoid.
8. With the engine at idle, apply 400 mmHg (15.7 in.Hg). Vacuum should be maintained. With the engine at 3500 rpm, apply 400 mmHg (15.7 in.Hg). Vacuum should leak for a few seconds after the engine is started.
9. Connect the No. 1 connector of the evaporative emission purge solenoid.
