Door Trim Panel - Peeling/Gap

DOOR TRIM PANEL GAP

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

On some affected vehicles, the vinyl covering on the driver's door trim panel may not fit properly or begin to peel away near the power window switch, creating a gap. The gap can be repaired by installing a door trim gasket around the power window switch.

VEHICLES AFFECTED

1994-96 Galant models equipped with power windows.

PROCEDURE





1. Remove the screw securing the power window switch to the driver's door trim panel.

2. Remove the power window switch assembly.

3. Disconnect the power window switch/door lock connector.





4. Install the door trim gasket (listed in the PARTS INFORMATION section of this bulletin) around the power window switch assembly. Be sure to use the appropriate color gasket to match the interior trim.

5. Reconnect the power window switch/door lock connector.

6. Reinstall the power window switch assembly, ensuring that it is seated properly into position.

7. Reinstall the screw that was removed in Step 1.
