Barometric Pressure Sensor: Description and Operation

PURPOSE AND OPERATION
The Barometric Pressure Sensor measures atmospheric pressure and converts the measurement into a Voltage signal which is sent to the ECM.

The ECM uses the Voltage signal to adjust the air-fuel ratio and ignition timing for the altitude at which the vehicle is running, thus improving driveability at high altitude.
