ABS Light: Testing and Inspection

CHECK THAT THE ABS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATES AS FOLLOWS:





Front Wheel Drive

1. When the ignition key is turned to "ON", the ABS warning light flashes 2 times during a 1 second period and then switches off.

2. When the ignition key is turned to "START", the ABS warning light remains off.

3. When the ignition key is turned from "START" back to "ON", the ABS warning light flashes 2 times during a 1 second period and then stays switched off.

4. If the illumination is other than the above, check the diagnostic trouble codes.

All Wheel Drive

1. When the ignition key is turned to "ON", the ABS warning light flashes 4 times during a 1 second period and then switches off.

2. When the ignition key is turned to "START', the ABS warning light remains off.

3. When the ignition key is turned from "START" back to "ON", the ABS warning light flashes 4 times during a 1 second period and then stays switched off.

4. If the illumination is other than the above, check the diagnostic trouble codes.
