Installation
1. Install timing belt under cover, then install engine support bracket, apply sealant to center bolt and tighten all bolts to specifications.Fig. 39 Balance Shaft Sprocket Installation:
2. Install crankshaft sprocket, Fig. 39.

3. Apply thin coat of engine oil to outer inside diameter of space and install with chamfered end facing oil seal, Fig. 40.
4. Install right hand balance shaft sprocket.

5. Ensure balance shaft and crankshaft sprockets are properly aligned, Fig. 41, then fit balance shaft timing belt over crankshaft and balance shaft sprockets. There should be no belt slack.
6. Temporarily install tensioner with center of pulley to left and above installation bolt center, then temporarily install pulley with flange toward front of engine.
7. Hold tensioner up so that tension side of belt is taut and tighten tensioner bolt, then measure belt tension side deflection. Standard deflection is 0.20-0.28 inch.

9. Install timing belt as described in Timing Belt.
