Engine: Service and Repair

1. Release fuel system pressure as outlined under Technician Safety Information.
2. Remove engine hood.
3. Drain engine coolant into appropriate container.
4. Remove transaxle assembly as outlined under Transmission and Drivetrain.
5. Remove radiator assembly.

6. Remove power steering oil pump from bracket with hose attached, Fig. 1. Tie with a cord and place aside.
7. On models with A/C, disconnect A/C compressor connector and remove compressor from compressor bracket with hose attached.
8. Connect engine assembly to engine hoist.
9. Place piece of wood between oil pan and jack, then after raising engine until no weight is on engine mount brackets, remove engine mount brackets.
10. After checking that all cables, hoses and harness connections are disconnected from engine, slowly remove engine assembly upward from engine compartment.
11. Reverse procedure to install, noting following:
a. Ensure cables, harnesses and hose connections are clear of engine assembly.
b. Install engine mount brackets using engine support tool No. MZ203827, or equivalent, to support engine assembly while installing transaxle.
