REPLACEMENT SERVICE CAMPAIGN
PURPOSE
The Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) Label on certain 1994 Galants is incorrect and must be changed. The incorrect label identifies the Emission Certification as U.S. E.P.A. only. The correct identification is 1994 U.S. E.P.A. and State of California. A letter containing the correct label has been sent to the affected vehicle owners instructing them to install the Vehicle Emission Control Information Label themselves. A copy of the customer notification letter appears in this bulletin. Vehicle owners who do not want to install the new labels by themselves have been advised by M.M.S.A. to ask their Mitsubishi Motors dealer to install the label at no charge.
VEHICLES AFFECTED
This campaign applies to certain 1994 Galants sold in California produced from October 1, 1993 to December 31, 1993.
CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION
All customers will receive one label with their notification letter. Dealers with unsold units will receive replacement labels (MD300326) along with this bulletin. Should a customer misplace the label, a replacement can be obtained through the MMSA Parts system.

LABEL INSTALLATION
1. Open the hood. Locate the Vehicle Emission Control Information Label.
2. Clean the old label of dirt and residue.
3. Carefully remove the backing strip from the new label. Affix the new label over the remaining portion of the old existing label.
