Removal

1. Release fuel system pressure as outlined under Technician Safety Information.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Remove timing belt as outlined under Timing Belt.

4. Replace camshaft, camshaft oil seal, rocker arms and rocker arm shafts in numbered sequence shown in Fig. 16, installing auto-lash adjuster holder, tool No. MD998443, or equivalent, prior to removal of rocker arm and rocker shaft assembly, to ensure auto-lash adjuster is not allowed to fall.
