Neutral Safety Switch: Service and Repair

1. Place selector lever in Neutral position.
2. Place manual control lever in Neutral position, then remove control lever retainer and lever.
3. Disconnect electrical harness, then remove switch retaining bolts and switch assembly.
4. Reverse procedure to install, then adjust as follows:

a. With manual control lever in Neutral position, rotate switch body until hole in end of manual control lever and hole in flange of inhibitor switch are aligned, Fig. 8.
b. Hold switch body in position, then torque retaining bolts to 7 - 8 ft. lbs.
c. Lightly pull transaxle control cable and tighten adjusting nut.
d. Ensure selector lever is in Neutral position.
e. Check for proper operation.
