Ignition Cable: Testing and Inspection

Ignition Wire Inspection:

1. Visually inspect the ignition wires for:
- Insulation or boots swelling or breaking down (due to fuel, oil or grease).
- Terminal ends corroding, cracked or loose.

Ignition Wire Resistance Test:

2. Using an ohmmeter, measure spark plug wire resistance between ends.
Acceptable Resistance: Approximately 7 K - 10 K ohms per foot, (not to exceed 30 K ohms per wire).
- Replace the wire if it fails the above test.
