REVISED ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE

1. Firmly set the vehicle's parking brake.

2. Place the shfft lever in the "N" position.

3. Loosen the transaxle control cable to manual control lever coupling nut. This will allow for free movement of the manual control lever.

4. Place the manual control lever in the neutral position.

5. Loosen the Park/Neutral position switch mounting bolts.

6. Turn the Park/Neutral position switch body to align the hole in the end on the manual control lever and the hole in the flange (see illustration - section A-A).

7. Torque the switch's mounting bolts to 11 N-m (8 ft.lbs.). Verify that the adjustment is correct. If during the torquing procedure the holes became misaligned, repeat from step 5.

8. Gently pull the transaxle control cable in the direction of the arrow, and then tighten the coupling nut.

9. Check that the selector lever (inside the vehicle) is in the "N" position.

10. Check that all shift positions are available at the selector lever. With your foot firmly on the vehicle's service brakes, start the engine and check each shift position. Check that the vehicle starts only in the "P" or "N" positions.
