When servicing crankshaft bearings refer to Fig. 46.
1. Install bearing with oil groove on cylinder block side.
2. Install bearing with no oil groove on bearing cap side.
3. Install bearing caps so their arrows are positioned on timing belt side.
4. Tighten bearing cap bolts to specifications.
5. Ensure crankshaft turns freely and endplay is 0.0020-0.0071 inch.
6. Force oil separator into oil seal case so that oil hole in separator is directed downward.
