DATE: February, 1992
MODEL: 1992 Expo and EXPO LRV
SUBJECT:
HEADLIGHT ADJUSTMENT
NOTE: This TSB replaces ATIN # 91-54-001, dated 11/12/91.
PURPOSE
This Technical Service Bulletin emphasizes the need to perform accurate headlight adjustment on Expo and Expo LRV, especially during PDIs and 1,000-mile vehicle check-ups.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
All 1992 Expos and Expo LRVS.
DESCRIPTION
Both Expo and Expo LRV are equipped with a high technology headlight system that directs light differently than other Mitsubishi Motor's vehicles. The headlight lenses are designed to disperse most of the light towards the right side of the vehicle. While this makes the left headlight beam appear low and pointed toward the right, it is NORMAL.
Since some of your customers might mistake this new light pattern as being out of adjustment, it is very important to insure the Expo and Expo LRV headlights are adjusted properly during PDI and also during the vehicle's 1000-mile check-up.
For proper adjustment of the headlights, refer to the 1992 Expo/Expo LRV Service Manual, Volume 2, Pages 54-39 through 54-41. Additionally, make sure each vehicle has a full tank of fuel or approximately 100-pounds of weight placed over the rear axle. This will insure the headlights can be accurately adjusted.
