Flow of Diagnosis
1. Utilize worksheets --Vehicle Repair History and Driveability--in Technical/Management Support to provide better communication between the customer and the technician.
2. Verify the complaint. Be sure there is a problem, before attempting to diagnose it.
3. Look for Technical Service Bulletins (TSB's) that may apply.
4. Check the Basics--SEE Testing Procedures.
5. Extract Trouble Codes stored in ECM memory. This process verifies the ECM sensors and circuits are functioning properly. SEE Diagnostic Trouble Code Extraction.
6. SEE Diagnosis by Symptom and Component Tests , as directed by trouble codes or symptoms.
