Procedure

NOTE: Oil pan and oil pickup tube must be removed prior to removing oil pump.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Release fuel system pressure.
3. Remove engine assembly as outlined under ENGINE.
4. Remove timing belt as outlined under TIMING BELT.
5. Remove front exhaust pipe.
6. Drain engine oil into a suitable container.
7. Remove engine undercover.
8. Remove oil pan in numbered sequence shown in Fig. 42.
9. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Apply sealant to oil pan as shown in Fig. 43.
b. Tighten oil pan bolts in sequence shown in Fig. 44.
