Power Transistor

Component Overview:

LOCATION

The 3 power transistors are located in front of the cylinder head next to the ignition coils.

PURPOSE

The ECM controls ignition timing and dwell by interrupting the ignition coil primary circuit ground, through the power transistors.

OPERATION

The solid state power transistors are used as switching devices, to control current in the coil primary circuit, (through the ground circuit).
