Repair Procedure

1. Verify that a yellow striped vacuum hose is connected to vacuum nipple "A" (Figure 4).
NOTE: It may be necessary to twist the vacuum hose to see the yellow stripes.

2. Remove and discard the existing Yellow striped vacuum hose.

3. Install the new EGR vacuum hose assembly on the vacuum nipples with the white band placed TOWARD the throttle body. Figure 5 shows an installed EGR hose assembly on vehicles with TCL. Figure 6 shows an installed EGR hose assembly on vehicles not equipped with TCL.

4. Before proceeding, make certain that the new EGR hose assembly is connected to the "A" vacuum nipple and that the white band is near the "A" vacuum nipple as shown in Figure 7.


5. Write down the radio station pre-sets.

6. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable for at least 30 seconds. This will clear the on-board vehicle diagnostic memory.

7. Reconnect the negative (-) battery cable.

8. Reset the radio station presets.
