Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor: Description and Operation

PURPOSE/OPERATION
The accelerator switch is an ON-OFF contact switch that tells the transmission control module when the accelerator pedal is in the released position. The TCM then disengages the torque converter clutch during deceleration.
